My Baby is unsettled

If you have a colicky and unsettled baby, you may be at your wits’ end. Watching your little one squirm and cry in pain can be heartbreaking. While there are a variety of potential causes of colic, some studies suggest that issues with the nervous system may play a role in some cases.

That’s where chiropractic care comes in.

Chiropractors are experts at aligning the spine and adjusting the nervous system. In infants, gentle chiropractic adjustments can help to calm the parasympathetic nervous system and promote healthy, balanced development.

In fact, pediatric chiropractors recommend that every infant should be checked by a chiropractor, even if they do not have any obvious symptoms. The sedentary lifestyle that many babies lead today, spending hours on their backs in cribs or car seats, can lead to subluxations (misalignments) in the spine that may interfere with proper nerve function.

Chiropractic Research

A randomized controlled trial published in the Journal of Manipulative and Physiological Therapeutics found that infants receiving chiropractic care had a significant reduction in crying time compared to those receiving standard care. Another study published in the Journal of Pediatric, Maternal, and Family Health demonstrated that chiropractic adjustments significantly reduced colic symptoms in infants.

By gently adjusting these subluxations, chiropractors can help to restore proper nerve communication and promote healthy growth and development. If your baby is struggling with colic or other symptoms, consider giving chiropractic care a try. With the right chiropractor, it may be the safest and most effective option for your little one.
