Welcome to Dynamism Biohack, my name is Dr. Matt Hammett Wellness & Nutrition Expert, Lifestyle Trainer and Movement Enthusiast. In each week I’m going share with you how to make the right nutritious choices despite conflicting expert opinions where I help you to discover how to unlock your inner aborigine or your inner greatness. Most of us at some point in our lives experience the caged life. Even a Dynamic person experiences glimpses of a caged life. The difference is this, a Dynamic person views every moment in life as a second chance and in every moment of that second chance they choose to be more present and vibrant in their life. In this training, I’m going to explain how being present and in the moment is the most important thing you can do day to day while you engage your five pillars of a dynamic health.

The ability to be present and in the moment is the big deep secret toward becoming a Dynamic person. Presence is the secret to high performance in life. In fact, if you get nothing more from this training, but the ability to focus more consciously and for the next year and the next sixty years of your life, let it be the capacity to be more present. With presence comes more success, more health, more progress.

And that leads us to Dynamism Biohack: Presence.


Everything you want more in your life can only come from heightening your ability to get more present in the moment. Once you are present in the moment, you are free from the past; you are free from all anxieties about the future, and you are free to be right here, and once your there. You are in the healthiest state of your mind. Spiritual teachers almost always speak about “freeing the mind.” Freeing the mind means being fully present in the moment where you’re not drifting in the past and carrying all that baggage anymore.

What is the purpose of therapy?

Therapists are trained to dwell in your mind taking you to the past and bring out all that anxiety and give you a diagnosis. By the way, I’m all for diagnosis, but in this training, we are defining Health Promotion and how to get it. I am not concerned about the diagnosis; leave that to the sickness/disease experts. Forget about your diagnosis for a moment, were discussing the Health-Promotion Model, not sickness/disease or crisis management.

The Health-Promotion Model is about how to achieve your highest potential in health and wellbeing regardless of your diagnosis. We are looking at sustained levels of potential and the ability to stay there for a lifetime! To do that, you got to learn how to get there. To get there, you have to demand it of yourself, and the only way you’re going to get there is with presence. So forget about your diagnosis for the moment and get present and free your mind about what is possible.

The only way to grow your Think driver of a Dynamic perosn is to have an open, high-performance mind that is present. A Dynamic person develops a freely directed mind and a consciously directed mind.

A Caged person usually is driven by the automatic system to “unconscious mind.” Of course, as we go thru out the day, there are many things that we do automatically which is controlled by the autonomic nervous system. But the “unconscious mind theme” has been overplayed in the last 50 years of psychological research.

The unconscious mind is important, and it is running in the background. But do people overly focus on that? Yes. Now, I’m not a psychologist, I get that.

But guess what, even if we fully diagnosis and understand every lever that is pushing your unconscious mind. Here is the kicker, when it comes to changing anything in your life there is a critical moment called a decision, which is called choice. While researching for this training and in the development of this new model I have patients in all walks of life who are therapists and pastors over the years. I’ve interviewed the experts on this, and this is what I’ve learned. May I be gentle for a moment, if you are a therapist, I honor your work, it is crucial.

What my research confirms, as we go through a diagnosis and an understanding of someone’s past, all of that effort is to reach one goal and one goal only; to bring them back into the present experience. Once they are in the present, they are more capable of making a decision or more present in the experience to tolerate the current experience and to decide and consciously choose their new emotions, their new feelings, their new behaviors and in many cases their new identity. All of the work of the past brings us right back here in the present in which now we have to design our lives consciously.

A Dynamic person knows that a consciously directed mind is the healthiest mind. A mind that says, “Here is who I am right now. Here is what I am about.” Dynamic people choose consciously today who they are going to be from now on. It is not about who they were, what they heard from someone else, or what they are supposed to be by other people’s aspirations. Nor is it about how they have been hurt, or frustrated by in life. It is not about what they succeeded in or failed at in the endeavors.

In the end, your diagnosis and all that other stuff do not matter. This present moment of the situation matters. In the current moment of choice, we now have the conscious ability to reach our highest levels as conscious human beings. The gift of a free mind, free will from God or the creator of the Universe, whatever it is that evolved us or created us into who we are, we have the ability consciously to choose our thoughts, feelings, emotions, and actions. That is what William James meant when he said, “the greatest finding and discovery of humankind.”

Human beings have the ability to engage their Think driver and consciously choose their thoughts and feelings we can opt to be happy and engaged right now. You can choose right now at this moment, positive things or you can choose right now at this moment to think about war. You have the ability to feel empowered right now, not because of anything that has ever happened to your past, because you take it in and turn it on at the moment. That is a free mind, and it’s a consciously decided mind.

You are consciously choosing who and what you are in the now, released from anything in the past. That is incredibly powerful. That is the goal of all of the therapy in most case. Again, I’m not a therapist, and my job is not in taking you back to the past, my job is taking you forward to the future!

Dynamic people know what to do at the moment. So at the moment we must make a new decision, a new choice, and consciously design and direct our mind. I will help you do that throughout this training. For the next year, I’m going to hold your hand and make sure you are always consciously deciding where you are in the present and where you are going.

Now, is it easy to slip back into the Caged people mindset, the unconscious fears or worries, anxieties or baggage? Yes. That’s why you need a coach. You need a mentor because I am always bringing you back to being present. Where do we want to go? Who are you in this moment? How are you choosing to think, feel, behave and interact with in life? How are you using your Five Pillars of a Dynamic Health?

My job as your coach and the creator of this training is to direct you consciously. The largest part of our brain is the prefrontal cortex that is our entire forward part of our brain. In any other animal, humans have the biggest prefrontal cortex as the most extensive section. Our cortex, especially the prefrontal cortex is the largest of any other species giving us the advantage and ability to be more conscious about our choices and how we conduct our lives. Dynamic people view their prefrontal cortex as a unique gift to be used in daily life.

My job, is to get you thinking differently about your life, your situation, your relationships. My job, is to focus you on the decisions you need to make to improve you. My job, is to get you to believe in yourself, because I do. Look if your listening to this, your here with me, your present with me. Sadly, if I took 100 of my patients, only 1 of them actually commit to this training in this detail. And your here with me, present with me, and I honor you for that. You’ll see as you learn how to Think like a Dynamic person, you will learn by what I mean when I say that health is a fruit that is grown and earned. If you don’t have health, what do you have. The truth is, it’s simpler than what we have all been led to believe; that is the purpose of this training, to distill the bold points from what all the experts agree on, into a simple process, a methodology that just works.

The health that you need, the health that is on demand when you need it most. you see because health doesn’t come to you, it comes from you, it is a fruit that is grown and earned. and i know we all heard the genetic cliche, the blame it, name it, and tame it with a drug approach; but the truth is; the solution doesn’t lie with more drugs and surgeries; the solution lies with you. You know it’s not so much of a healthcare crisis as it is a self care crisis in our world today. Be more present in the moment, and you will have more energy, vibrancy, free from all that anxiety.
